Our main challenge in communication work is the fight against ignorance. Both the value of using our standards, and GS1 as a brand, have a low degree of awareness, knowledge, and expertise in the sectors we operate. We must ensure that our communication work contributes to increasing awareness and understanding of what GS1 standards and GS1 can give our target groups. Learn how GS1 Norway is building their communication capability through storytelling.

Topic 1: Healthcare

More than ever is this sector a focus for the GS1 MOs. In this session you will learn about the Turkish Pharmaceutical Track and Trace System and Device Track and Trace System. GS1 Turkey will talk about their role in this sector and more importantly the role of GS1 standards in protecting patients. You will also learn how Norwegian hospitals see GS1 standards for enabling traceability of medical devices and equipment.

Topic 2: Membership management

The first point of contact of a company with GS1 is usually through the memberhsip to an MO. This crucial moment in the life of a customer is at the heart of all MOs’ preoccupations. The GS1 Turkey team continuously tries to make membership processes user friendly and you will learn during this ession how they accomplish this with new technologies and more importantly, face-to-face interactions. GS1 Norway believes that becoming a member-centric organisation is an attitude – but efficient and user-friendly systems and solutions is a necessity!

Topic 1 GS1 Norway: New CEN standard for labelling of fish and seafood, utilising GS1 Standards and 2D codes

With the expertise given by GS1 Denmark, Ireland and Norway did CEN publish a new standard last year for labelling of fish and seafood. This standard is a tool to comply with the legislation by EU on traceability of fish and seafood products and will give the whole supply chain a standardised way of handling information.

Topic 2 GS1 Turkey: The Communication Challenge

Discover what communication challenges and barriers we deal with on a daily basis and hear about the tools we are developing to overcome these barriers.

Topic 3 GS1 Norway: The GLN, a prerequisite for digital procurement

GLN means extended member base and business for an MO. More insights on GS1 Norway’s daily operation of a central GLN datapool and member integration and benefits.

Topic 4 GS1 Turkey: The future is mobile

Mobile applications and social responsibility are key. In this session we will go deeper on the mobile applications of GS1 Turkey such as GEPIR, product ID card etc. We will also inform you about the social responsibility project that GS1 works together with Microsoft to help visually impaired people.
